U.S. seeking alternatives to Maliki, officials say
Officials have told Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki that time is short for his government to reach out to other ethnic groups.

The Obama administration has been actively seeking alternatives to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki as Iraq approaches the formation of a new government following recent parliamentary elections, according to U.S. officials.

When the current crisis began last week, the administration told Maliki in no uncertain terms that time was short for his Shiite-dominated government to reach out to Sunni and Kurdish communities with new offers of political inclusion. Otherwise, officials said, Kurds would likely see the upheaval as an opportunity to form their own state, while at least some Sunnis would likely join with Islamist militants advancing on the capital.

Since then, while Maliki has taken some tentative steps, there has been virtually no substantive movement, officials said. Don't cry for me Iraq …

In recent days, U.S. representatives on the ground in Baghdad — led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Brett McGurk and Ambassador Robert Stephen Beecroft — have consulted with Sunni, Kurdish and Shiites outside Maliki’s governing alliance, to explore the possibility of forming a new government without him.

Deputy Prime Minister Saleh al-Mutlak said he had met with Beecroft and McGurk the previous day and that they indicated indirectly that the U.S. government wants Maliki to go.

As sectarian violence in Iraq escalates dramatically, what is at stake for the U.S.?

The Post's diplomatic correspondent Anne Gearan, senior national security correspondent Karen DeYoung, chief White House correspondent Scott Wilson, and The Fix's Chris Cillizza weigh in on ramifications in the Beltway and beyond.

“They didn’t say it directly, but between the lines they realize we can’t sit together with Maliki,” he said.
“The impression I have is that neither the United States or Europe or the Arab states want him anymore. He did not lead an inclusive government, terrorism has increased and we reached the point where we are today.”

On Wednesday night, Vice President Biden called Osama al-Nujaifi, the Sunni speaker of Iraq’s parliament and an outspoken critic of Maliki, to say that the United States would like to see an inclusive Iraqi government, including Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds, according to Nujaifi’s spokesman Dhafer Al-Ani.

“Biden didn’t say he wanted Maliki out, but he said the United States didn’t support Maliki,” he said. “We made clear our position that we would not be part of a government headed by Maliki.”
Beecroft had met with Nujaifi earlier in the day to stress that Iraqi parties should forge ahead with creating a government, Ani said.

“Maliki’s chance of becoming the new prime minister has become very low,” he said, adding that Shiite, Kurdish and Sunni parties were all pushing forward alternatives to the prime minister. Bayan Jabr, a former interior minister, is among those being mooted, he said.

Maliki’s spokesman Ali al-Musawi said that this is the wrong time to seek Maliki’s removal. For him to step down now “would not only mean chaos, it would be surrender to terrorists,” he said.

Although Maliki’s alliance won the most votes in April elections, with 92 out of 328 parliamentary seats, he must build a majority coalition in order to retain control of the government. The Iraqi Supreme Court certified the election results on Monday, starting a timeline for government formation.

The irony of the current crisis, a senior administration official said as the outreach began, is that “there’s an ability to unite the country” in opposition to the militants. “But in order for that to work, more needs to be done to address the legitimate concerns of all communities, including the Sunnis and Kurds. Absent that, their incentives to take part aggressively” in fighting advancing forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria “is much less.”

There are few if any candidates to lead a new government who could win the support of all parties. Most of the likely contenders, including Nujaifi, leader of the largest Sunni political group; Shiite politician Ayad Allawi, who headed a multi-ethnic coalition in the last election; and Shiite politician Ahmed Chalabi, are all well-known and well-worn figures on the Iraqi political stage and likely to be unacceptable to one or more groups.

Some of Iraq’s neighbors, meanwhile, including the Sunni monarchy in Saudi Arabia, have been pushing for the formation of an interim coalition government as the fastest way to remove Maliki .

During his eight years in office, Maliki has found himself increasingly isolated, with parties across the political spectrum accusing him of tightening his grip on power, sidelining political rivals and playing on the country’s sectarian divisions. Maliki and his former ally Moqtada al-Sadr have traded acrimonious public jibes in recent months, with Sadr describing Maliki as a dictator.

Ameer al-Kenani, a Sadrist parliamentarian, said his party is working alongside other Shiite parties to rally support behind alternative leaders ahead of the first session of Iraq’s newly elected parliament, which should be held within a fortnight according to the constitution.

“We have several names,” he said. “Maliki should not be part of the new government, he is the problem. He has been very aggressive with the Sunnis and also with the Kurds and other Shiites.”

Decapitation has become the latest fashion. In many ways, it sends terrorism back to the future. Unlike hijackings and car bombs, ritual beheading has a long precedent in Islamic theology and history.
In the winter of 1951, President Harry S. Truman reluctantly allowed the French army to employ American napalm against the Viet Minh at the Battle of Vinh Yen. The effect was electric. Enemy soldiers were petrified.:
“The bomb falls closely behind us, and I feel its fiery breath,” a Viet Minh officer recounted in a diary passage quoted in Bernard Fall’s history “Street Without Joy.” “The men are now fleeing in all directions. . . . I stop at the platoon commander . . . his eyes were wide with terror. ‘What is this? The atom bomb?’”

In a short time, however, the psychological impact of the pyrotechnics of burning gel waned. To the Vietnamese, napalm became just another kind of bomb, deadly and destructive to be sure, but no more frightening than any other air-delivered weapon. The French increased the use of napalm in subsequent battles, but by the time the French army surrendered in 1954 at Dien Bien Phu, the Viet Minh had learned that napalm, like all airstrikes, could be avoided through concealment, dispersion and entrenchment.
Right now, the Islamic State is going through this same evolutionary process along the western border of Kurdistan. As one can see from the grainy black-and-white “gun camera” tapes released by the Pentagon, the U.S. airstrikes of the past week have mostly succeeded. Lazy and overconfident Islamic State forces positioned their artillery and mortars in the open. Their convoys were bunched together and tended to travel along established highways, where they could easily be spotted by drones. As planes approached, fighters cowered in fear or ran away.
Expect them to learn quickly from these mistakes. Many Islamic State commanders are former Baathist officers who have seen U.S. firepower in action and understand how to respond to it. Some are veterans of almost three years of Syrian bomb strikes and are comfortable with quickly taking cover at the first sight of aircraft overhead. Recent images show they are dispersing their newly acquired U.S. tanks, Humvees and artillery. They also are beginning to hide their command posts in villages and digging in their small units. Their supplies are being stuffed into houses, where they cannot be spotted from the air. It’s an old tactic that works. Just ask the Israelis.

Recent history suggests there will be strategic consequences from seeking to blunt the Islamic State advance through airpower alone. First, the effectiveness of pinpoint strikes will diminish quickly; it generally takes only a few weeks for a disciplined force to become inured to the psychological effects of such firepower.

Second, as the enemy becomes harder to kill, a greater investment will be needed to get the same results. Soon “targeted strikes” by only one or two aircraft will become meaningless, and more bombs will be needed. This will require a proper air campaign, which will increase the density of aircraft overhead and the concurrent risk to pilots. We saw this happen in the Balkans in 1999.

Third, as targets get harder to locate from the air, it will become necessary to push ground reconnaissance units forward to find and flush Islamic State units into the open. This task will involve greater risk not just to Kurdish pesh merga fighters, but also to U.S. special forces units that must accompany them.

Fourth, as we increase our killing power and the Islamic State retreats into towns and cities, images of dead children — and questions of moral proportionality — will emerge in the global media. Eventually, terrible as it is, the Islamic State narrative will begin to trump the U.S. narrative. When that moment arrives, we will have no other option but to turn the aircraft carriers around and go home.

Fifth, and most frightening, would be the terrible consequences of the Islamic State’s managing to shoot down a piloted U.S. aircraft. Remember, these are clever and well-equipped soldiers who have downed many Syrian fighter jets over the past three years. Terrible images of a captured U.S. flier on an Islamic State Web site would inflame the conflict.

The bottom line is simple. In a firepower approach to war, escalation and mission creep are both inevitable and necessary. As the enemy grows more skilled, we will be left with two unattractive alternatives: Escalate until tragedy occurs or accept battlefield stasis until the American people tire of these “targeted strikes.” And when we fly away with the Islamic State still dominant on the battlefield, the terrorists will proclaim to the world that the United States is a cowardly country that has been beaten again.

The war against terrorism is the 21st century's version of the Hundred Years War. Territory in the name of Religion (jihad) will continue to be hijacked as a justification for acts of violence, rape, genocide, and murder. It is up to the leaders of these regions and religions to speak out and defend their faiths against these criminals. I don't see much happening today on that account.
Apparently the worst of humanity are the types who need to hide their deeds under the blanket justification of religion - there never will be an "Islamic Caliphate" - but there is and will be a Cambodian-style "killing field" in Sunni tribal regions of Iraq and Syria as long as the Sunnis tolerate in their midst under banner and bravado of "Islam" these self-infected terrorists.
The Middle East as a region has been a hotbed of violence due to cultures that welcome,  perpetuate and tolerate violence - not due to any particular mistreatment by outside powers. From the Roman Empire to the NWO/USA - the tribes and countries in that part of the world have always been xenophobic pointing fingers and dodging any moral responsibility for conduct unbecoming human to whomever doesn't accept and agree with them. ISIL ideology rejects the existing borders. ISIS doesn't accurately reflect their aims. So who are they  really?  Is a label all that important? Their behavior and relationship with humanity is more telling than the proxy of any label.
These folks understand power, greed, force and effective use of "media meat puppets" to enrage humanity. They aren't going to play nice if we talk to them. If we give in to their demands, tomorrow they will be back with a new list of demands. We need to show a position of absolute strength. However, such domination in effect is exactly what they desire.  Chevy Chase in Groundhog Day is a close analogy.  What does it take to break the cycle?

Sharpton, businesses owe $4.7 million in tax debt
The Rev. Al Sharpton, along with his nonprofit National Action Network and two for-profit firms, have $4.7 million in outstanding debt and liens, according to federal and state tax records, the New York Post reported on Sunday.

Among the debts include $806,875 that Sharpton owes the state, along with $2.6 million in federal liens against him for unpaid personal income taxes, the Post stated.

Recent filings showed the National Action Network owed $813,576 to the federal government at the end of 2012, and his company Rev-Al Communications owes $447,826 to the state, while the Bo-Spanky Consulting firm has $18.21 in outstanding debt, according to the Post.

Sharpton told the Post he's paying down the debts according to negotiated agreements.

"It's significantly less. It's nowhere near the millions of dollars. We have totally lived up to our agreement with them," Sharpton the Post. "It's being paid down."

In 1987, the controversial preacher stood by then-15-year-old Wappingers Falls resident Tawana Brawley's side after she was found in a trash bag, covered in feces and racial slurs.

She claimed she was abducted and raped by a group of white men, among them Steven Pagones, who was a prosecutor with the Dutchess County's District Attorney's Office.

The fact that Sharpton is given any credibility is "despicable," Pagones said to the Poughkeepsie Journal on Sunday evening. "The guy has caused so many problems and so much racial tension in the past. I don't understand how people, politicians can afford him the credibility."
Lacking physical evidence or eyewitnesses, Sharpton repeatedly identified Pagones as Brawley's attacker, according to Journal archives. A specially impaneled grand jury, called by then-Gov. Mario Cuomo, determined Brawley's story was phony.

That case brought national media attention and racial tension to Dutchess County.

Pagones sued Brawley, Sharpton and others for defamation in 1998.

The jury awarded Pagones $345,000, including $65,000 from Sharpton for making seven defamatory statements. The reverend's friends and supporters like lawyer Johnnie Cochran Jr. and businessman Percy Sutton covered the debt.

"Without ever requiring him to admit that he created the Brawley hoax and come through with the truth ... I'm not saying he's not carrying a good message in some instances, but how is it that he's the messenger?" Pagones said.
Over the years, Sharpton endured tax evasion charges; disclosures of his work as an FBI informant; and allegations that his rhetoric about "white interlopers" incited an arson attack on a white-owned Harlem business that left eight people dead, according to Poughkeepsie Journal archives.

The Post reported that Sharpton's recent Federal Election Commission filing shows an outstanding balance of $208,000 with the Federal Election Commission for improperly taking campaign money and government matching funds during his 2004 presidential bid.

“America stands before the world as an impetuous void, a fatality without substance. Nothing prepared her for hegemony; yet she tends toward it, not without a certain hesitation. Unlike the other nations which have had to pass through a whole series of humiliations and defeats, she has known till now only the sterility of an uninterrupted good fortune. If, in the future, everything should continue to go as well, her appearance on the scene will have been an accident without influence. Those who preside over her destiny, those who take her interests to heart, should prepare her for bad times; in order to cease being a superficial monster, she requires an ordeal of major scope. Perhaps she is not far from one now. Having lived, hitherto, outside hell, she is preparing to descend into it. If she seeks a destiny for herself, she will find it only on the ruins of all that was her raison d'ĂȘtre.”

Blood on the city streets … is this skid marks on our democracy?
Is democracy merely a suggestion box for slaves was Jefferson's vision of democracy correct?

A Constitutional Republic with voting rights in a representative democracy, … is polling more important than voting?
Voting is the best way of validating and identifying all the people with a room temperature IQ. Is it all just part of the human condition, otherwise known as the inconvenience of existence.
The real danger to America is not the false leaders like Bush and Obama, there will be and endless supply of these TV talking heads reading from the teleprompter. The real danger to America is a citizenry that continues to prop-up and "elect" these charlatans as if there were any REAL difference between them.

So, … "Are  we witnessing the collapse of democracy"?
Part of the voting cycle is just the polling of general feeling or attitude shifts due to entitlement economics, a rigged stock market and malaise of rule of law. We seem to be headed for such a fateful turn in the dynamics of the frailty of relationship in human existence.

Have police domestically turned more militaristic in equipment and procedures and what is the root cause?

This is a very serious issue far beyond what most people would even guess. It tends to show the changing attitudes within a "free" society.  When the interpretation of rule of law, borders and humanitarian aid is viewed as a sinister plot to control public opinion; coupled with Obama who seems to think he was elected to rebuild America. We are approaching a serious turning point that may reshape the world as did 1932 following the economic trend of the Great Depression.

The year 1932 saw Mao come to power in China. In Germany, Hitler came to power. FDR came to power in the United States. Even in Japan, the seeds of war were planted with the May 15 Incident, in which Prime Minister Tsuyoshi Inukai was assassinated by young military officers in an attempted coup. The killing spread fear among Japan’s liberal politicians and strengthened the militarists, who eventually led the country into the catastrophic Pacific War.

Do parallels exist from 1932, which was also the low in the capitalist markets from 1929. Was 2007 the beginning of a changing process?

Is the world witnessing the collapse of democracy or to put it in the proper perspective – the right of the people to vote even in a republic. Europe is hell-bent on removing any democratic process because Brussels believes they know best and the people are just too stupid to know what is best for them.

So has 2007 marked the beginning of shift in attitude?

Obama Reportedly Blocks Israel Missile Shipment U.S. administration officials stop missile transfer, order all future transfers to be scrutinized in sign of further cooling ties.
A new report reveals that US President Barack Obama's administration stopped a shipment of missiles to Israel late last month and tightened weapons shipment procedures to Israel, as tensions between the two nations grow amid Operation Protective Edge.
Old Yiddish proverb: You can’t dance at two weddings at once.
Stopping weapons shipments to a close ally IN A TIME OF WAR is not only very unusual, it is deliberate sabotage by the neo-nazi tag team of Obama & Kerry. Hashem will deal with them at the proper time & remember that we must not rely on the US quite so much anymore. There is no reason why Rafael Industries cannot manufacture a Hellfire missile knockoff & let Israel finally cut the US foreign aid umbilical cord. Our independence & self-respect is worth way more than $3 Billion a year. Then there's always China!
The report in the Wall Street Journal, released Wednesday night, cites US officials in Obama's administration, who say they discovered Israel had requested a large number of Hellfire missiles directly through military-to-military channels. An initial batch of the missiles was about to be shipped, according to sources in Israel and the US Congress.
At that point, the Pentagon stepped in and put the transfer on hold. Further, top White House officials instructed various US military agencies to consult with the US State Department before approving any additional requests from Israel.
A senior Obama administration official was quoted in the report as saying the transfer shouldn't have been a routine "check-the-box approval," given Israel's defensive operation in Gaza against Hamas, which is recognized as a terrorist organization by the US.

The decision to clamp down on future transfers was the equivalent of "the United States saying 'the buck stops here. Wait a second…It's not OK anymore,'" said the official.

A Israeli defense official confirmed the reports to Walla! on Thursday, saying "the US delayed a shipment of Hellfire missiles to the Israeli airforce." He added "apparently it was (done) on the background of national tension" with Israel.
Obama has been at odds with Israel over the defensive operation in Gaza, making various attempts to press Israel into accepting a truce with the adamant terrorist organization of Hamas. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reportedly responded to the pressure by telling the administration "not to ever second guess me again," after Hamas committed one of its many ceasefire violations.

Currently a new five-day ceasefire has come into effect as of Wednesday at midnight, with Obama calling Netanyahu shortly ahead of when it came into effect to push for a"sustainable" ceasefire.

According to US officials cited in the Wall Street Journal report, the Wednesday night phone call between Obama and Netanyahu was "particularly combative."

"Discovering" military-to-military arms transfers
The report noted that on July 20, ahead of the Hellfire missile cancellation, the IDF asked the US military for various munitions such as 120-mm mortar shells and 40-mm illuminating rounds, without the knowledge of Obama's administration. Obama administration should read Israeli newspapers, so they can be informed!

Three days later the request was approved by the military, without Obama or US Secretary of State John Kerry being approached for approval, given that their approval was not required for such a transfer.
A US defense official added that the standard review process in such requests was properly followed.

The transfer without Obama's unnecessary approval was followed by a similar incident ahead of the Hellfire cancellation, which occurred the same day as the July 30 IDF strike on terrorists adjacent to a UN school, which the US slammed as "disgraceful."

In response, the IDF confirmed it targeted Islamic Jihad terrorists in the vicinity of the school. Previously the IDF provided video evidence that Hamas fires rockets from inside schools; further, UNRWA schools have been used in at least three cases to store Hamas rockets, after which UNRWA repeatedly returned the rockets to Hamas.

On the same day as the UN school strike, US reports said the 120-mm and 40-mm rounds had been released by the US army to the IDF, with one Obama administration official saying "we were blindsided."

A US defense official responded, saying "there was no intent to blindside anyone. The process for this transfer was followed precisely along the lines that it should have."
Demonstrating the tense ties between Obama's administration and Israel, a senior official of the administration told the Wall Street Journal "we have many, many friends around the world. The United States is their (Israel's) strongest friend."

"The notion that they are playing the United States, or that they're manipulating us publicly, completely miscalculates their place in the world," added the official.

The US decision to tighten down on arms transfers to Israel comes as the UK is threatening similar actions. On Tuesday, the British government threatened to suspend 12 arms export licenses to Israel if fighting resumed in Gaza.

Sneaking into a country doesn’t make you an ‘immigrant’ any more than breaking into a house makes you ‘part of the family’ … but Uncle Joe says that they're already citizens!  Go figure!

Immigrant students inundated a Georgia school district registration center this week seeking to sign up for classes.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) reports that nearly 200 families with immigrant students were waiting outside the DeKalb County registration facility early Monday morning.
“We got here, and there was a long line,” Sandra Nunez, head of the school district’s International Welcome Center, told AJC.
The report comes as the Department of Education has made it clear that illegal immigrant students are “entitled to” public eduction and the southern border is in crisis with tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors entering the country illegally — many of whom are later placed with a sponsor in the U.S. as they await immigration hearings.

School districts are not permitted to inquire about students’ immigration status.  Who pays … well, property and home owners will "foot" the increase cost of Obama's failure to enforce immigration laws!  Most likely this invasion with youths will lead to larger class room sizes and slower education and in the aggregate lower test scores … no — but wait the "system" will create new testing methods to compensate.  We are the World! Which straw will break the camel's back?
Additionally, AJC reports that Thursday night people spent the night outside the registration facility believing a false rumor that they needed to sign up their students for classes by Friday. Students can, in fact, register year-round.

Nunez told AJC that last week the school registered about 300 immigrant students.

According to AJC, the DeKalb center can only handle about 60 new registrants a day. The registration office dealt with the run on the facility by handing out 180 numbered cards; the first 60 were to be processed Monday, the rest the following days.
Given the inability of school districts to request information about students’ immigration status, officials could not tell AJC whether the line was directly correlated with the ongoing crisis at the border.
Since October, more than 62,900 unaccompanied minors have been detained illegally entering the United States through the southern border. The vast majority of these youths are from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.
AJC reports that Nunez said that the proportion of Spanish-speaking students is about the same as last year. According to the paper, DeKalb County usually sees about 2,000 new immigrants registered a year. This year to date the district has seen about 1,300.

Do you remember the scene? The Senate. Barbara Boxer hearing from a Brigadier General. Silly General! He addresses Barbara as "Ma'm," and she CORRECTS him, telling him she's "worked SO hard to earn the title, "Senator," so please use that when speaking to her.

Get a load of this letter!

Read the letter sent to Sen. Barbara Boxer from an Alaskan Airlines pilot below. Many of us witnessed the arrogance of Barbara Boxer on June 18, 2009 as she admonished Brigadier General, Michael Walsh because he addressed her as "ma'am" and not "Senator" before a Senate hearing.

This letter is from a National Guard aviator and Captain for Alaska Airlines named Jim Hill. I wonder what he would have said if he were REALLY angry!

You were so right on when you scolded the General on TV for using the term, "ma'am," instead of "Senator." After all, in the military "ma'am" is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position. The General was totally wrong. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a member of one of the world's most corrupt organizations, the U.S. Senate, equaled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and other low level swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of the People of the United States and its Constitution in order to be continually re-elected. Many Democrats even want American troops killed by releasing photographs. How many of you could honestly say, "We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor"? None? One? Two?

Your reaction to the General shows several things. First is your abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the General shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the General entered the military (as most of us who served), he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to protect your corpulent derriere, now safely and comfortably ensconced in a 20 thousand dollar leather chair paid for by the General's taxes. You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions.

Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication and arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.

What I am writing are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress but who lack the energy, ability or time to convey them. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize that politicians are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is. Lord Acton (1834 - 1902) so aptly charged, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, "Mr. Power" has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.

Finally, "Senator," I, too, have a title. It is "Right Wing Extremist Potential Terrorist Threat." It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, and you were offended by "ma'am?"

Have a fine day. Cheers!

When you've read to the end, come back and read this first paragraph again.

A Coil of Rage:
The character of any man is defined by how he treats his mother as the years pass ... need I say more about this person below other than there is no character,

no integrity, but there is a ton of attitude and arrogance that defines his shallow past and hollow future ... I rest my case.

I bought and read Obama's book, Audacity of Hope. It was difficult to read considering his attitude toward us and everything American.

Let me quote a phrase he uses to describe his attitude toward whites. He "harbors a COIL OF RAGE".

His words not mine. This is the current US president. HE IS NOT MY PRESIDENT. He does not represent me nor the real America. Is anyone out there awake?

Everyone of voting age should read these two books written by him: Don't buy them , just get them from the library.

From: Dreams From My Father "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

From: Dreams From My Father "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

From: Dreams From My Father "There was something about her that made me wary, a little too sure of herself, maybe and white."

From: Dreams From My Father "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

From: Dreams From My Father "I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa ,

that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself: the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."

And FINALLY ... and most scary:

From: Audacity of Hope "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

'The border fence is a joke': Filmmaker crosses from US to Mexico dressed as Osama bin Laden as Border Patrol says 'we can't be everywhere at once'
James O'Keefe, known for guerrilla documentaries targeting liberals, says US Border Patrol was nowhere to be seen when he crossed border twice
The conservative firebrand wore a bin Laden mask to show the national security implications of unmonitored borders
A Border Patrol official said agents who ought to be on the 'front lines aren't even on the front lines anymore'
Texas sheriff showed how a section of border fencing ends abruptly, providing easy access for immigrants to sneak in from Mexico
A flamethrowing American conservative activist raised eyebrows in the U.S. on Monday by releasing a video of himself crossing the Rio Grande River from Mexico into Texas, dressed as the late al-Qaeda terror mastermind Osama bin Laden.

Guerrilla documentarian James O'Keefe's footage comes at a time when Americans are engaged in a national debate about border security. Tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors from Central America have entered the U.S. illegally in recent months, drawn by a confusing White House policy that appears to offer amnesty for those who make it safely.

In Monday's video release, O'Keefe focuses on the implications for national security: He illegally crosses into Mexico twice and returns – first in street clothes and again in army fatigues, wearing an Osama bin Laden Halloween mask.

Not really Osama: James O'Keefe donned a Halloween mask to show that U.S. Border Patrol is stretch too thin to arrest terrorists coming across the border from Mexico
The video stunt is the latest online expose from the same filmmaking activist who brought down the liberal group ACORN with a video showing its employees agreeing to help a purported pimp run a human trafficking ring and evade income taxes

O'Keefe talked to a Texas sheriff who conceded that illegal immigrants can enter the U.S. by moving a metal fencepost and walking around a few strands of barbed wire.
The official White House website includes a claim that 'today border security is stronger than it has ever been.'

But O'Keefe told MailOnline that his stunt proves the federal government's policy is lax and needs a dramatic overhaul.

'President Obama is trying to deny the obvious,' he said.

'We proved that border security is national security. The fence is not complete. The border is not secure. In fact, the video shows the border fence is a joke.'

'The primary responsibility of the commander-in-chief is to protect the homeland,' said O'Keefe. 'With a single trip to the border, we proved that President Obama and Congress have failed miserably and are misleading America.'
A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol official told MailOnline that his agency's forces are stretched to the breaking point.

'We can't be everywhere at once,' the official said Monday. 'This is typical of what you'll find in Texas.'

'The guys who are on the front lines aren't even on the front lines anymore. They're dozens of miles inside the U.S. How can we catch the bad guys if we never see them until they're standing on American soil?'

O'Keefe, though, was more than willing to have his name and face associated with Monday's episode.

He is famous for shuttering the liberal pressure group ACORN with a 2009 video sting showing the organization's workers helping a prostitute and her pimp plan a human trafficking operation and evade income taxes.

He also raised eyebrows in 2012 by pretending to be U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder at a polling place and being offered his ballot without an ID check. Holder had famously opposed a policy of requiring voters to show photo IDs on Election Day.

But this week his attention was focused on Mexico, saying in his six-minute film that 'this border is not secure. No one is on watch.'

If bin Laden can cross into the U.S., he says, 'anybody can cross. ... Do you feel safe?'

O'Keefe told MailOnline that he has fielded questions about whether the Mexican government is lkely to charge him with a crime for illegally entering from the U.S. in order to film himself coming back across the sliver of river that separates the two countries.

No one, however, is asking him about the possibility of repercussions from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

'I don't know what the Mexican law is and frankly I don't care,' he said. 'All I know is nobody was there protecting our national security.'

Guerrilla filmmaker: O'Keefe told MailOnline that his video shows the U.S. is kidding itself to believe its borders are secure.

President Barack Obama boasted in May 2011 that the border fence separating the US from Mexico was 'basically complete,' and boasted that his policies had 'strengthened border security beyond what many thought possible'

In a 2011 speech at the border, President Obama claimed that his policies had 'strengthened border security beyond what many thought possible.'

'The fence is now basically complete,' the president claimed.

But Hudspeth County, Texas Sheriff Arvin West showed O'Keefe how his county's 98-mile stretch of border territory includes a secured fence that stops abruptly, as though construction crews ran out of materials one day and walked off the job.

'That's the dead end of it right there,' West says, pointing to a crude barbed-wire fence that continues on to mark the border.

'If you think four strands of barbed wire is securing the border,' he explains, 'then I guess it's secure.'

Given the threats imposed upon Israel from Gaza in the south, Hezbollah in Lebanon to the north, Syria and especially Iran + ISIS to the east, this is indeed a welcome system at their disposal, and a necessity for their survival..

Rafael industries of Israel is the developer of “Iron Dome”. Here is a short video describing how the system works. I found it interesting. USA helped fund the development, but Israel did the design and manufacturing of the system. It has been a “game changer” in protecting Israeli citizens from Gaza rockets.

When baseball greats Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig went on tour in baseball-crazy Japan in 1934, some fans wondered why a third-string catcher named Moe Berg was included.
The answer was simple: Berg was a US spy.
Speaking 15 languages - including Japanese - Moe Berg had two loves: baseball and spying.
In Tokyo, garbed in a kimono, Berg took flowers to the daughter of an American diplomat being treated in St. Luke's Hospital - the tallest building in the Japanese capital.
He never delivered the flowers. The ball-player ascended to the hospital roof and filmed key features: the harbor, military installations, railway yards, etc.
Eight years later, General Jimmy Doolittle studied Berg's films in planning his spectacular raid on Tokyo.
Catcher Moe Berg
Berg's father, Bernard Berg, a pharmacist in Newark, New Jersey, taught his son Hebrew and Yiddish. Moe, against his wishes, began playing baseball on the street aged four.
His father disapproved and never once watched his son play. In Barringer High School, Moe learned Latin, Greek and French.
He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton - having added Spanish, Italian, German and Sanskrit to his linguistic quiver.
During further studies at the Sorbonne, in Paris, and Columbia Law School, he picked up Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Arabic, Portuguese and Hungarian - 15 languages in all, plus some regional dialects.
While playing baseball for Princeton University, Moe Berg would describe plays in Latin or Sanskrit.
Tito's partisans

During World War II, he was parachuted into Yugoslavia to assess the value to the war effort
of the two groups of partisans there. He reported back that Marshall Tito's forces were widely supported by the people and Winston Churchill ordered all-out support for the Yugoslav underground fighter, rather than Mihajlovic's Serbians.
The parachute jump at age 41 undoubtedly was a challenge. But there was more to come in that same year.
Berg penetrated German-held Norway, met with members of the underground and located a secret heavy water plant - part of the Nazis' effort to build an atomic bomb.
His information guided the Royal Air Force in a bombing raid to destroy the plant.

The R.A.F. destroys the Norwegian heavy water plant targeted by Moe Berg.
There still remained the question of how far had the Nazis progressed in the race to build the first Atomic bomb. If the Nazis were successful, they would win the war. Berg (under the code name "Remus") was sent to Switzerland to hear leading German physicist Werner Heisenberg,
a Nobel Laureate, lecture and determine if the Nazis were close to building an A-bomb. Moe managed to slip past the SS guards at the auditorium, posing as a Swiss graduate student.
The spy carried in his pocket a pistol and a cyanide pill.
If the German indicated the Nazis were close to building a weapon, Berg was to shoot him - and then swallow the cyanide pill.

Moe, sitting in the front row, determined that the Germans were nowhere near their goal, so he complimented Heisenberg on his speech and walked him back to his hotel.

Werner Heisenberg - he blocked the Nazis from acquiring an atomic bomb.
Moe Berg's report was distributed to Britain's Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and key figures in the team developing the Atomic Bomb. Roosevelt responded: "Give my regards to the catcher."
Most of Germany's leading physicists had been Jewish and had fled the Nazis mainly to Britain and the United States. After the war, Moe Berg was awarded the Medal of Merit - America's highest honor for a civilian in wartime. But Berg refused to accept, as he couldn't tell people about his exploits.
After his death, his sister accepted the Medal and it hangs in the Baseball Hall of Fame, in Cooperstown,
