BLACK LEADERSHIP OR LACK OF LEADERSHIP? YOUR CHOICE!

"THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO. THERE ARE HUNGRY PEOPLE TO FEED, NAKED PEOPLE TO CLOTHE, SICK PEOPLE TO COMFORT AND MAKE WELL.  AND WHILE I DON'T EXPECT YOU TO SAVE THE WORLD I DO THIINK IT'S NOT ASKING TOO MUCH FOR YOU TO LOVE THOSE WITH WHOM YOU SLEEP, SHARE THE HAPPINESS OF THOSE WHOM YOU CALL FRIEND, ENGAGE THOSE AMONG YOU WHO ARE VISIONARY AND REMOVE FROM YOUR LIFE THOSE WHO OFFER YOU DEPRESSION, DESPAIR AND DISRESPECT."

THE MOST TRANSPARENT ADMINISTRATION EVER …

Valerie Jarrett Key Player in Fast and Furious Cover-Up After Holder Lied to Congress

President Obama’s trusted senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, was a key player in the effort to cover up that Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress about the Fast and Furious scandal, according to public records obtained by Judicial Watch.

The information is part of a Department of Justice (DOJ) “Vaughn index” detailing records about the gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious. JW had to sue the agency for the records after the Obama administration failed to provide them under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). A federal court ordered the DOJ to provide the records over the agency’s objections. Yesterday JW reported on the broad information in the records, including that Obama asserted executive privilege for Holder’s wife as part of the administration’s efforts to cover up the scandal.

Practically lost in the 1,000-plus pages of records is an index that shows Jarrett was brought in to manage the fact that Holder lied to Congress after the story about the disastrous gun-running operation broke in the media. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) ran the once-secret program that allowed guns from the U.S. to be smuggled into Mexico so they could eventually be traced to drug cartels. Instead, federal law enforcement officers lost track of hundreds of weapons which have been used in an unknown number of crimes, including the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Arizona.

The files received by JW include three electronic mails between Holder and Jarrett and one from former U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke to Jarrett. The e-mails with Holder are all from October 4, 2011, a significant date because, on the evening of October 3rd, Sheryl Attkisson (then at CBS news) released documents showing that Holder had been sent a briefing paper on Operation Fast and Furious on June 5, 2010. The paper was from the director of the National Drug Intelligence Center, Michael Walther.

This directly contradicted Holder’s May 3, 2011 testimony to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, during which he stated that he, “probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.” The October 4, 2011 date may also be significant because it came shortly after the August 30, 2011 resignation of U.S. Attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke and reassignment of acting ATF director Kenneth Melson to the position of “senior forensics advisor” at DOJ.

The description of one of the e-mails, written from Jarrett to Holder, reads, “re: personnel issues.” Another, also from Jarrett, reads, “outlining and discussing preferred course of action for future responses in light of recent development in congressional investigation.” Unfortunately, the index is vague and that’s all the information we have about them. Nevertheless, given the timing and subject of these e-mails, it seems clear that Jarrett quickly became a key player in the Fast and Furious cover-up in the immediate aftermath of the revelation that Holder had lied to Congress.

CITIZEN BILL OF GRIEVANCES
AGAINST PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

WHEREAS, President Barack Obama’s administration, which in 2009 invited the corrupt and criminal ACORN organization to “partner” in the 2010 Census, is now apparently violating federal statutes including the “Defund ACORN Act” by continuing to funnel taxpayer funds as “grants” to renamed ACORN affiliates;
WHEREAS, President Barack Obama has failed in his duty to secure the borders of the United States against illegal immigration and is weakening enforcement of existing illegal immigration laws and successful enforcement programs;
WHEREAS, President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice unjustifiably sued the states of Arizona and Alabama over their new laws empowering local law enforcement personnel to obey the same federal immigration laws that the President has refused to enforce, and is threatening similar lawsuits against other states;

WHEREAS, President Barack Obama has instituted unconstitutional takeovers of key sectors of the United States economy;

WHEREAS, President Barack Obama’s administration has failed to comply with Judicial Watch’s legal open records requests to release public documents related to those actions and other financial bailouts;
WHEREAS, President Barack Obama progress that gave the federal government control over America’s health care system (“Obamacare”) was created behind closed doors (in violation of the president’s campaign pledge to…put the health care negotiations on C-SPAN”) was based on false and misleading financial assumption, and is so constitutionally suspect that 27 states filed suit against it.
WHEREAS, President Barack Obama has failed to comply with Judicial Watch’s legal open records efforts to release public documents related to possible corrupt deals struck to win passage of this “Obamacare” legislation;
WHEREAS, President Barack Obama by signing “Obamacare” into law also put the national student loan program under government control, a provision of the health care legislation that was barely debated in Congress or discussed in the mainstream media;
WHEREAS, President Barack Obama’s administration contested Judicial Watch’s historic and ultimately successful lawsuits related to the full release of White House visitor logs and has still failed to comply with the court order to surrender;

WHEREAS, President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice dropped a clear-cut voter intimidation lawsuit against the New Black Panther Party, and documents uncovered by Judicial Watch prove that, despite repeated Obama administration denials, senior political appointees at the Justice Department were involved in this radically and politically-driven decision;

HOW DO I PROTECT MYSELF AGAINST OBOLA AND PROGRESSIVE VOTERS?

How do I protect myself against Obola?

If you must travel to an area affected by the 2014 Ebola outbreak, protect yourself by doing the following:

FIRST AND FOREMOST STOP LISTENING TO THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA (MSM) … SEEKS SOURCES OF INFORMATION ELSEWHERE!!!

Wash hands frequently or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer …

Avoid contact with blood and body fluids of any person, particularly someone who is sick.

Do not handle items that may have come in contact with an infected person’s blood or body fluids.

Do not touch the body of someone who has died from Obola.

Do not touch bats and nonhuman primates or their blood and fluids and do not touch or eat raw meat prepared from these animals.

Avoid hospitals in West Africa where Obola patients are being treated. The U.S. Embassy or consulate is often able to provide advice on medical facilities.

Seek medical care immediately if you develop fever (temperature of 100.4°F/ 38.0°C or higher) and any of the other following symptoms: headache, muscle pain, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, or unexplained bruising or bleeding.
Limit your contact with other people until and when you go to the doctor. Do not travel anywhere else besides a healthcare facility.

CHOICE … I WANT THEM ALL!!!

I'M PISSED THAT I CAN ONLY SELECT ONE … I'M STUCK LIKE A POLE TURTLE!

A Postive Agenda for America in 2015

USA Today
A Better economy, more liberty, and stronger national security should be our pillars for change

By: Senator Ted Cruz

By all signs, Americans are preparing to send Washington a clear message in the 2014 elections.

The question is, will Washington listen?

Republicans — poised to take control of Congress — should set our sights on three big goals to make Americans feel confident in their futures once again: jumpstart the economy, safeguard constitutional liberties, and strengthen our national security.

Here are ten critical priorities for the 2015 Congress:

First, embrace a big pro-jobs, growth agenda. For six years, the Obama economy has been trapped in stagnation, hurting millions. A Republican Congress should immediately help Americans get more jobs by embracing America’s energy renaissance. This means passing legislation to make it easier to build energy infrastructure, such as the Keystone pipeline. But, we need an energy policy that’s bigger than Keystone. An effective energy plan would also protect innovative energy technology, such as hydraulic fracturing, from being handcuffed by the federal government. We can also open up land for exploration and ensure that American companies can export liquefied natural gas around the world. And, lastly, stop the EPA from implementing rules that will destroy coal jobs and drive up our electricity bills.

Second, pursue all means possible to repeal Obamacare. There is a reason Obamacare has miserable 37% approval ratings: it has caused millions to lose their jobs, be forced into part-time work, lose their health insurance, lose their doctors, and pay skyrocketing premiums. It simply isn’t working. We should pass repeal legislation (forcing an Obama veto), and then pass bill after bill to mitigate the harms of Obamacare. Prevent people from having their healthcare plans cancelled, prohibit insurance company bailouts, eliminate the provisions forcing people into part-time work, and repeal the individual mandate.

YELLEN YELLING … HOW YOU GOING TO KEEP THEM DOWN ON THE FARM ONCE THEY'VE SEEN GAY PARIEE

YELLEN YELLING … HOW YOU GOIN' KEEP'EM DOWN ON THE FARM ONCE THEY'VE SEEN THE CITY LIGHTS?
Janet Yellen, chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve.
Income inequality in the United States is near its highest levels of the past 100 years, Fed Chair Janet Yellen said on Friday.

Yellen, in remarks prepared for a speech Friday morning, said she was concerned about both the growing burden of student debt and the decline in new business formation, which she said could depress productivity.

Enormous increase in global inequality: OECD

"The past several decades have seen the most sustained rise in inequality since the 19th century after more than 40 years of narrowing inequality following the Great Depression," she said. "By some estimates, income and wealth inequality are near their highest levels in the past hundred years, much higher than the average during that time span and probably higher than for much of American history before then."

Yellen conceded that rebounding home prices have restored some lost housing wealth, particularly for those at the bottom.

Yet at the same time, she said the wealthiest 5 percent still hold two-thirds of all assets, and that while there have been significant gains at the top of the spectrum, things have been stagnant for the majority.

"I think it is appropriate to ask whether this trend is compatible with values rooted in our nation's history, among them the high value Americans have traditionally placed on equality of opportunity," she said.

She also cautioned that inequality in housing wealth enhanced inequality in education.

Yellen's words come as the Fed prepares to exit the third leg of its monthly bond-buying program known as quantitative easing. The central bank had cut the program's level to $15 billion a month, and is expected to shut it down completely when the Federal Open Market Committee meets Oct. 28-29.

However, the Fed likely will keep short-term interest rates anchored near zero, where they have been for nearly six years. Critics say the central bank has been too low for too long, and in fact has helped exacerbate inequality by providing liquidity that has largely helped stock prices zoom nearly 190 percent higher amid an otherwise slow economic recovery.

A RACE TO THE BOTTOM
"Unfortunately, the past several decades of widening inequality has often involved stagnant or falling living standards for many families," Yellen said.
AND THE COLLATERAL FOR THE BALANCE SHEET IS WHERE?
Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren, in a CNBC interview Friday morning, defended the Fed's actions and said its cheap-money policies and expansion of the central bank's balance sheet to $4.5 trillion have helped families.

"All Americans are helped by a low unemployment rate. All Americans are helped by wages starting to go up a little bit faster than we've been seeing," he said. "(Inequality of opportunity) reflects much larger trends than just monetary policy that tends to be quite cyclical."

T. E. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA … WATCH IT AGAIN AND PAY ATTENTION!!!

BIRTH AT THE END OF THE ALIMENTARY CANAL … WHY TURKEY PROBABLY WON'T GET INVOLVED IN FIGHTING ISIS, ISIL, ISLAMIC STATE … WHATEVER!

On March 11th 1917, General Maude's British Indian army marched into Baghdad and took as prisoners almost 10,000 Ottoman troops. If you had to locate the birth of the modern, post-caliphate Arab world in a single event, that would be it. Over the next few years, London and Paris drew lines in the sand and invented the western Middle East, and the states we treat with today - Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia. The British certainly understand the significance of March 1917: When they returned to Baghdad to topple Saddam a decade ago, they named their new military headquarters in the Green Zone "Maude House".
Likewise, if one were to pick a single, decisive event that would mark the end of the modern, western Middle East and the dawn of the post-western pre-modern Middle East, it would be the fall of Baghdad to ISIS or ISIL or, as they prefer to be known, "the Islamic State".
Is that likely? According to General Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, speaking on ABC News at the weekend, the head hackers were within 15 miles with "a straight shot to the airport". As I write, they're apparently within eight miles. The Iraqi Army do not seem minded to put up much of a fight - unlike, say, the Kurds in Kobani. And naturally, heady on its usual cocktail of treachery and delusion, Washington has chosen to stiff the Kurds but prop up the Iraqi Weapons of Mass Desertion.

Can American air support delay the inevitable? Or will the jihad boys soon be poking around not only the abandoned Maude House but also the largest and most expensive US embassy on the planet, laughing it up for the cameras in front of askew portraits of Joe Biden? One assumes the Administration is at least rehearsing some spin for this eventuality, although with the Obama crowd nothing can be taken for granted. Still, no doubt Susan Rice will be sent out on the Sunday talk-shows to declare that Baghdad is of no strategic significance, and the court eunuchs of the American media will helpfully explain how this shows Obama's commitment to fulfilling his election promise of decisively ending Bush's Iraq war - or, alternatively, that Obama is too sophisticated to be trapped by outmoded paradigms such as victory and defeat.

But out in the real world the meaning of the event will be well understood. "The Islamic State" will be the Islamic State, the one that finally redrew the infidel lines on the Arab map imposed by Anglo-French colonial administrators in 1922. The neo-caliphate will have taken Baghdad, the capital of the old caliphate for half-a-millennium, from its designation in 762 by the caliph al-Mansur as the seat of his empire. Wannabe caliph al-Baghdadi will have an historic Muslim metropolis, most of Iraq, much of Syria, and - who knows? - maybe a nibble or two of Jordan and a few other bits and pieces. John Kerry, who isn't an Islamic scholar but plays one on TV news, will continue huffin' an' a-puffin':

ISIL now proudly takes credit for the abduction, enslavement, rape, forced marriage, and sale of several thousand Yezidi and other minority women and girls—some as young as 12 years old. Just as despicably, ISIL rationalizes its abhorrent treatment of these women and girls by claiming it is somehow sanctioned by religion. Wrong. Dead wrong.

ISIL does not represent Islam and Islam does not condone or honor such depravity. In fact, these actions are a reminder that ISIL is an enemy of Islam.

Yeah, right. If you didn't think Kerry and Obama and Cameron's no-Islam-to-see-here protestations could sound any more risible, wait till al-Baghdadi's proclaiming the restoration of the caliphate from the CIA safe room in the Baghdad embassy. In Patrick Poole's analysis of an ISIS victory, this section is hard to argue with:

Much of the Obama administration's anti-ISIS efforts have been trying to leverage other "vetted moderate" groups in Syria against ISIS, with some "smart set" thinkers even advocating engaging "moderate Al-Qaeda" to that end. We are already seeing jihadist groups gravitating towards ISIS, such as the announcement this week by Pakistani Taliban leaders pledging their allegiance to the Islamic State. Other groups of younger jihadis are breaking away from Al-Qaeda franchises in North Africa and defecting to ISIS. Despite bitter rivalries between ISIS and other jihadist groups in Syria, namely Al-Qaeda's official Syrian affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, these other groups will be hard-pressed to deny ISIS' caliphate claims if they do take Baghdad. In that part of the world, nothing succeeds like success.

Or, as Osama used to put, when people see a strong horse and a weak horse, they go with the strong horse. The Islamic State will have land, money, oil, and a ton of great infrastructure and weaponry courtesy of American taxpayers. All the "moderate" groups we've been trying to woo from Libya to Syria and beyond will side with the strong horse. Our remaining allies, such as Jordan, reeling under the social strains of a vast swollen refugee tide from across its borders, will get with the program - or be the next to fall. Nothing exists in isolation: Syria was unimportant to the Obama Administration, so it sat by as the opposition to Assad mutated and evolved, and then spilled over into Iraq. And maybe Iraq is unimportant, too, but, bigger and stronger, ISIS will move on from there, too. Is the Kurdish north unimportant? Lebanon? Jordan? Israel?

Maybe it's all unimportant, at least when compared to "social justice" and transgendered bathrooms. But, to modify Trotsky, you may not be interested in the world but the world is interested in you. And, indeed, not being interested in the world would be a more credible position if you hadn't let the world move into the rental apartment above your garage. For those thousands of disaffected young Muslim men cruising jihadist websites from their drab housing projects in Antwerp and Hamburg and Minneapolis, the restored caliphate will not be a pipe dream but a new reality. And they will act accordingly.

OBAMACARE TRI-FECTA … GETTING F**K AND KNOWING YOU'VE BEEN F**K AND PAYING FOR IT AGAIN

Unable to Meet the Deductible or the Doctor … if you like your illness you can keep your illness …

Patricia Wanderlich, who suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2011, decided to forgo a brain scan this year because of the cost.Credit Rob Hart for The New York Times
Patricia Wanderlich got insurance through Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) this year, and with good reason: She suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2011, spending weeks in a hospital intensive care unit, and has a second, smaller aneurysm that needs monitoring.

But her new plan has a $6,000 annual deductible, meaning that Ms. Wanderlich, who works part time at a landscaping company outside Chicago, has to pay for most of her medical services up to that amount. She is skipping this year’s brain scan and hoping for the best.

“To spend thousands of dollars just making sure it hasn’t grown?” said Ms. Wanderlich, 61. “I don’t have that money.”

AN ESTIMATE 25% HAVE NOT OR CAN NOT PAY THE PREMIUM … WOW WHAT INSURANCE!!!
About 7.3 million Americans are enrolled in private coverage through the Affordable Care Act marketplaces, and more than 80 percent qualified for federal subsidies to help with the cost of their monthly premiums. But many are still on the hook for deductibles that can top $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for families — the trade-off, insurers say, for keeping premiums for the marketplace plans relatively low. The result is that some people — no firm data exists on how many — say they hesitate to use their new insurance because of the high out-of-pocket costs.

BIRTH CONTROL FOR 60 YEAR OLD WOMEN … FREE!!!
Insurers must cover certain preventive services, like immunizations, cholesterol checks and screening for breast and colon cancer, at no cost to the consumer if the provider is in their network. But for other services and items, like prescription drugs, marketplace customers often have to meet their deductible before insurance starts to help.

While high-deductible plans cover most of the costs of severe illnesses and lengthy hospital stays, protecting against catastrophic debt, those plans may compel people to forgo routine care that could prevent bigger, longer-term health issues, according to experts and research.

“They will cause some people to not get care they should get,” Katherine Hempstead, who directs research on health insurance coverage at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, said of high-deductible marketplace plans. “Unfortunately, the people who are attracted to the lower premiums tend to be the ones who are going to have the most trouble coming up with all the cost-sharing if in fact they want to use their health insurance.”

Deductibles for the most popular health plans sold through the new marketplaces are higher than those commonly found in employer-sponsored health plans, according to Margaret A. Nowak, the research director of Breakaway Policy Strategies, a health care consulting company. A survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that the average deductible for individual coverage in employer-sponsored plans was $1,217 this year.
In comparison, the average deductible for a bronze plan on the exchange — the least expensive coverage — was $5,081 for an individual and $10,386 for a family, according to HealthPocket, a consulting firm. Silver plans, which were the most popular option this year, had average deductibles of $2,907 for an individual and $6,078 for a family.

Jon R. Gabel, a health economist at NORC, a research organization affiliated with the University of Chicago, said that employer-sponsored plans had lower deductibles, in part, because they provided more generous coverage than the most popular exchange plans. The typical employer-sponsored health plan would qualify as a gold-level policy under the standards of the Affordable Care Act, Mr. Gabel said.

The website for the federal insurance marketplace serving 36 states, HealthCare.gov, strongly encourages consumers to focus on premiums: When consumers search for a plan online, the results are ranked by premium price, with plans offering the lowest premiums listed first.

But insurance plans with lower premiums generally have higher deductibles. Gina Brown, 37, of Nashville, was paying about $155 a month for a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee plan, after taking account of her subsidy. But her deductible was $4,000, she said, and so she avoided going to the doctor even when she got an ear infection over the summer.

HEAL THYSELF …
“I attempted to treat it with over-the-counter and homeopathic meds,” she said. “Eventually it went away.”

Ms. Brown recently got a job with health benefits, so she canceled the marketplace plan. Her new insurance has a deductible of $1,000, but primary care visits and prescriptions are not subject to the deductible.

“Now that I know I can go and safely just pay a co-pay,” she said, “it makes me feel better.”

Mark Yuschak, 57, of Jackson, N.J., said he had a silver plan with an annual deductible of $3,000. He discovered its limits in March.

“My wife had an incident, a digestive disorder, and we had to go to the emergency room of a hospital in Freehold, N.J.,” Mr. Yuschak said. “We presented our insurance card and filled out all the forms. They told us, ‘You don’t have a co-payment, you’re free to go.’ ”

Later, though, they received a bill “that could choke a horse,” Mr. Yuschak said — for more than $1,000. “Our insurance wouldn’t cover any of it because we had not met our deductible.”

ITS LIKE BEING MARRIED TO THE GOVERNMENT
Carol Payne, a respiratory therapist in Gilbert, Ariz., signed up through HealthCare.gov for a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan with a $6,000 deductible. She pays $91 toward her monthly premium and gets a subsidy of $353 to cover the rest.

The plans she could have chosen with lower deductibles were from insurers that “were not as reputable,” Ms. Payne said. She has used the insurance for preventive care and an emergency room visit after a car accident.

“I’m just doing what I can to keep myself healthy,” she added. “I mean, $6,000 — do they think I’ve just got that under my mattress?”

DO YOU WANT THE BIG OR LARGE? GOTTA LOVE CHOICE!

People with low incomes may qualify for subsidies that reduce their deductibles, co-payments and other out-of-pocket costs. The assistance is available to people with incomes from 100 percent to 250 percent of the poverty level (from $23,550 to $58,875 for a family of four), but only if they choose a silver plan.
Consumers also benefit from a provision of the Affordable Care Act that limits out-of-pocket costs, which include deductibles. The limit this year is $6,350 for an individual and $12,700 for a family plan. But in general, the limits apply only to care provided by doctors and hospitals in a plan’s network and do not cap charges for out-of-network care.

Dr. Rebecca Love, of Moab, Utah, is well on her way to passing that limit. Dr. Love, 63, who has degenerative arthritis and a host of other health problems, pays $422 a month in premiums for a plan that has a deductible of $6,000. But she has already paid more than $6,000 in medical costs this year that did not count toward her deductible because the doctors and hospitals — more than 100 miles away in Grand Junction, Colo. — were not in her network.

To see certain specialists in her network, Dr. Love said, she would have had to travel to Salt Lake City, which is much farther away and requires driving through a treacherous mountain pass.

“Medical care costs too much and health insurance as it stands doesn’t address this,” she said. “What have we become?”

WE ALL GET HOSED!
Ms. Wanderlich, who had suffered the brain hemorrhage, was even avoiding preventive care until last month, when she had to get a prescription renewed and her doctor’s office required her to be seen first. Grudgingly, she went for an annual physical exam on Sept. 12. She was relieved to learn that she owed only $30 for the visit; the provider billed her insurer more than $1,200.

When the next open enrollment period begins on Nov. 15, Ms. Wanderlich said, she will probably switch to a plan with a narrower network of doctors and a smaller deductible. It will probably mean losing her specialists, she said, but at this point she is resigned.

“A $6,000 deductible — that’s just staggering,” she said. “I never thought I’d say this, but how many minutes until I get Medicare?”

ISIS, ISL, ISLAMIC STATE … WOULD EBOLA WITHIN CREATE AN OBAMA RESPONSE?

Amid Assurances on Ebola, Obama Is Said to Seethe … But what would the reply be if Ebola infected the ISIS, ISL, and Islamic State?

WASHINGTON — Beneath the calming reassurance that President Obama has repeatedly offered during the Ebola crisis, there is a deepening frustration, even anger, with how the government has handled key elements of the response.

OBAMACARE IN ACTION!
Those frustrations spilled over when Mr. Obama convened his top aides in the Cabinet room after canceling his schedule on Wednesday. Medical officials were providing information that later turned out to be wrong. Guidance to local health teams was not adequate. It was unclear which Ebola patients belonged in which threat categories.

“It’s not tight,” a visibly angry Mr. Obama said of the response, according to people briefed on the meeting. He told aides they needed to get ahead of events and demanded a more hands-on approach, particularly from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “He was not satisfied with the response,” a senior official said.

The difference between the public and private messages illustrates the dilemma Mr. Obama faces on Ebola — and a range of other national security issues — as he tries to galvanize the response to a public health scare while not adding to the sense of panic fueled by 24-hour cable TV and the nonstop Twitter chatter.

ANOTHER CZAR …
On Friday, Mr. Obama took a step to both fix that response and reassure the public, naming Ron Klain, a former aide to Vice President Joseph R. Biden, to coordinate the government’s efforts on Ebola.

The appointment followed the president’s statement Thursday that the job was necessary “just to make sure that we are crossing all the t’s and dotting all the i’s going forward.”

“Part of the challenge is to be assertive, to be in command, and yet not feed a kind of panic that could easily evolve here,” said David Axelrod, a close adviser to the president in his first term. “It’s not enough to doggedly and persistently push for answers in meetings. You have to be seen doggedly and persistently pushing for answers.”
For two turbulent weeks, White House officials have sought to balance those imperatives: insisting the dangers to the American public were being overstated in the news media, while also moving quickly to increase the president’s demonstration of action.

OUTBREAK …
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa, and its arrival in the United States, is the latest in a cascade of crises that have stretched Mr. Obama’s national security staff thin. As the White House scrambled to stop the spread of Ebola beyond a handful of cases, officials were also grappling with an escalating military campaign against the Islamic State, the specter of a new Cold War with Russia over Ukraine, and the virtual disintegration of Yemen, which has been a seedbed for Al Qaeda.

Senior officials said they pushed Mr. Obama to name an Ebola coordinator as a way of easing pressure on the staff at the National Security Council.

At the meeting on Wednesday, officials said, Mr. Obama placed much of the blame on the C.D.C., which provided shifting information about which threat category patients were in, and did not adequately train doctors and nurses at hospitals with Ebola cases on the proper protective procedures.

A look at the government agencies and private entities that were involved in the case of the first person found to have Ebola in the United States.

On Thursday night, in televised remarks, Mr. Obama sought to reassure the public about the dangers from Ebola. But the sense of crisis that emanated from the White House was in sharp contrast to Sept. 30, when Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian who had traveled to Dallas, tested positive for Ebola. Mr. Obama received a telephone briefing from Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, the director of the C.D.C., after which the White House issued a sanguine statement that concluded: “We have the infrastructure in place to respond safely and effectively.”
In the days that followed, Mr. Obama carried on as usual while his aides gamely added Ebola to their bulging portfolios. On Oct. 1, Mr. Obama met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, and later had dinner with friends at the RPM Steakhouse in Chicago, where he had traveled for fund-raisers and to deliver an economic speech.
By early October, as questions about the Dallas hospital’s treatment of Mr. Duncan mounted, federal officials began reassessing their response, even as they continued to express confidence.

C.D.C. officials publicly dismissed the effectiveness of screening for Ebola at airports in the United States. But Jeh Johnson, the secretary of Homeland Security, found a way to make it work over the weekend of Oct. 4. Mr. Obama announced the screening protocol the following Monday.

Even after Mr. Duncan’s death on Oct. 8, officials betrayed little sense of a change in approach. Mr. Obama traveled to California for campaign fund-raising and on his return to Washington, received a briefing from his secretary of health and human services about the announcement that a nurse who treated Mr. Duncan had contracted Ebola.

FUND RAISING …
The business-as-usual sentiment at the White House changed abruptly, officials said, when it got word early Wednesday that a second nurse in Dallas contracted the disease. The fact that she had traveled on a Frontier Airlines flight despite having a fever added to the concern, officials said.

“This Frontier thing took it out of the abstract thing and to this level where people could identify with and made them scared,” a senior official said. Within hours, White House aides canceled a planned trip by Mr. Obama to Connecticut and New Jersey. Hours later, Thursday’s trip to Rhode Island and New York City was also scrubbed.Continue reading the main story

In their place, officials quickly scheduled two frenetic days of presidential activity: meetings, phone calls, statements to the press. All other subjects were shelved — at least publicly — to allow Mr. Obama and his senior advisers to confront the management of the Ebola response directly and to demonstrate the administration’s resolve publicly.

Susan E. Rice, the national security adviser, has been leading the effort to prod Britain, Germany, France and other countries to do more to respond to the outbreak. One of Ms. Rice’s deputies, Lisa Monaco, who is responsible for homeland security and counterterrorism issues, has been coordinating the domestic response, which involves working with the C.D.C., state and local health authorities, and the Transportation Security Administration on issues like scanning of incoming passengers.

BIOHOAX?
Administration officials insist the president has been deeply engaged since late August, when he played host to African leaders, in prodding them to ramp up the fight against Ebola in West Africa. Last month, he warned world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly to do more.

“It’s not that people aren’t doing anything,” a senior official said. “It’s that they’re not yet doing enough.”

Complicating the administration’s international push, it is also pressing European allies to contribute military resources to the campaign against the Islamic State. Officials said they were satisfied with Britain and Germany, but that France had been dragging its heels.

WHO'S WHO AT WHO
Administration officials also said Mr. Obama felt that the United States needed to intensify its Ebola efforts because the World Health Organization was “slow to react to this,” an official said.

On Friday afternoon, even before Mr. Klain started, the White House showed signs of returning to normal. FUND RAISING!!!

EBOLA
…
Mr. Obama headed a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the state of the fight against the Islamic State, which has become a grinding campaign in recent days, with American officials urging Iraq’s new government to deploy its troops more aggressively. The president is scheduled to campaign for candidates running for governor in Maryland and Illinois on Sunday.

OBAMA & ADMINISTRATION STUCK ON STUPID!!!

CDC considers adding names of health workers monitored for Ebola to no-fly list

CDC: Second Dallas Ebola patient took commercial flight

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is considering adding the names of health care workers being monitored for the Ebola virus to the government's no-fly list, federal officials tell Fox News.

The move is being considered as a response to Wednesday's disclosure that Dallas nurse Amber Joy Vinson was cleared to fly on a commercial airliner earlier this week despite having been exposed to the Ebola virus while treating Thomas Edward Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

Texas health officials announced early Wednesday that Vinson, 29, had tested positive for the virus, making her the second hospital worker to become infected. Vinson's fellow nurse, 26-year-old Nina Pham, tested positive last weekend. More than 70 workers involved in Duncan's treatment are being monitored by the CDC. Duncan died Oct. 8 of the virus after nearly two weeks in the hospital.
On Monday, a CDC official cleared Vinson to fly from Cleveland to Dallas on board Frontier Airlines Flight 1143 despite the fact that she had called and reported having a slight fever, one of the common symptoms of the Ebola virus. Vinson's reported temperature -- 99.5 degrees -- was below the threshold of 100.4 degrees set by the agency and she had no symptoms, according to CDC spokesman David Daigle.
THE BLAME GAME
Federal sources, though, are now saying she "lied" about how she was feeling. Though she told the CDC she had a low-grade fever, according to sources her family said she was feeling tired and not feeling well. But sources said this information was not conveyed to CDC officials when she called to ask about flying.

On Wednesday, after Vinson was diagnosed with Ebola, CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden acknowledged that the nurse should not have been allowed to board the plane. Vinson had been in Ohio visiting family and had not experienced initial symptoms during her outward journey.

From now on, Frieden said, no one else involved in Duncan's care would be allowed to travel "other than in a controlled environment." He cited guidelines that permit charter flights or travel by car but no public transportation.

Federal health officials are now attempting to track down Vinson's fellow passengers on the flight, the CDC said Wednesday. Frontier has taken the aircraft out of service. The plane was flown Wednesday without passengers from Cleveland to Denver, where the airline said it will undergo a fourth cleaning, including replacement of seat covers, carpeting and air filters. One Central Texas school district temporarily closed three of its campuses because two of its students traveled on the same flight as Vinson.

Early Thursday, Frontier released a statement saying that the crew of Flight 1143 had been placed on paid leave for 21 days, despite CDC guidance that they were all safe to fly. On its website, the CDC says all people possibly exposed to Ebola should restrict their travels -- including by avoiding commercial flights -- for 21 days.

Also Thursday, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital said it was offering rooms to any workers being monitored for the virus who wished to avoid the possibility of passing the virus to family or friends.

Meanwhile, federal health officials, including Frieden, were scheduled to testify before the oversight subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee Thursday.

In prepared testimony, Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, said Duncan's death and the infections of the two Dallas nurses and a nurse in Spain "intensify our concerns about this global health threat." He said two Ebola vaccine candidates were undergoing a first phase of human clinical testing this fall. But he cautioned that scientists were still in the early stages of understanding how Ebola infection can be treated and prevented.

Medical records provided to The Associated Press by Duncan's family showed Vinson inserted catheters, drew blood and dealt with Duncan's body fluids. Late Wednesday, she arrived in Atlanta to be treated at Emory University Hospital, which has already treated three Americans diagnosed with the virus.

Also Wednesday, President Obama sought to ease fears in the U.S., urging a stepped-up response even as he stressed that the danger in the United States remained a long shot.

"We want a rapid response team, a SWAT team essentially, from the CDC to be on the ground as quickly as possible, hopefully within 24 hours, so that they are taking the local hospital step by step though what needs to be done," he said.

But Obama also noted that the Ebola is not an airborne virus like the flu, and thus is more difficult to transmit.

The president made a point of noting that when he visited with health care workers who had tended to Ebola patients at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, where Vinson was taken for further treatment late Wednesday, he hugged and kissed them without fear of infection.

"They followed the protocols, they knew what they were doing," he said. "I felt perfectly safe doing so."

I'LL BE THERE BEFORE THE NEXT TEAR DROP FALLS … DRONE ON & ON & ON!!!

The Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916

THE MIDDLE EAST TODAY … IS IT ANY WONDER WHY IT'S A CAN OF WORMS!?
The Sykes-Picot Agreement of May 1916, was a secret agreement that was concluded by two British and French diplomats, Sir Mark Sykes and Georges Picot. The Sykes-Picot Agreement involved itself with the partition of the Ottoman Empire once World War One had ended.

The Sykes-Picot Agreement effectively handed over control of Syria, Lebanon and Turkish Cilicia to the French and Palestine, Jordan and areas around the Persian Gulf and Baghdad to the British. While neither France nor Britain actually ‘owned’ these territories, they were to effectively control them at a governmental and administrative level. Northern Syria and Mesopotamia were also considered to be an area of French influence while Arabia and the Jordan Valley were considered to be a sphere of influence of the British. Jerusalem was to be governed by an international administration.

This agreement did clash with the McMahon Agreement of 1915 and the statements made by T E Lawrence to the Arabs who had expected to be allowed to govern their own regions after helping the Allies fight the Turks during World War One.

The agreement was never completely fulfilled by the peace settlements but it did lead to the Arab people not fully trusting the British or French governments at times in the future.

How did the Arab people find out about the Sykes-Picot Agreement?

After the Bolshevik Revolution in November 1917, the Communists, led by Vladimir Lenin, found a copy of the agreement in the Russian government’s archives. Russia, in the agreement, was to have influence in Turkish Armenia and northern Kurdistan – hence why the pre-communist government had a copy of the agreement. The Russian Communists released the contents of the agreement into the public domain – thus explaining why numerous Arab groups knew about it.

SAY IT LOUD, PROUD AND FREQUENTLY … THE TRUTH ALWAYS COMES THROUGH!!!

Joseph Goebbels would be very proud, the Ministry of Truth under the anointed one understands the importance of the propaganda machine in a way that he and his ilk did back in 1938.

We are in dangerous waters. Regardless of political stripe, the attempts to control our press should frighten every American, but sadly, the modern democrat party are nothing more than historically ignorant wanna-be socialist/communist/marxist.
Reporters have no one to blame but themselves for their complicity.

The "reporters"
threw the constitution, and its guarantees of their rights as the fourth estate under the bus in the name of partiality, to get 'their guy' elected.

Now they must suffer along with everyone else.

No sympathy!!!

White House pool reporters test own news distribution system

White House journalists are creating an alternative system for distributing their media “cesspool” reports in response to the Obama administration’s involvement in approving and disapproving certain content in official reports.

A small group of reporters initiated an online forum this month in which they shared “cesspool” information among themselves, without White House involvement. The forum was set up by the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA), which negotiates with the White House’s press staff over access for journalists.

Pool reports — those summaries of the president’s public appearances that go to the news media at large and are used in countless news stories — are filed by a rotating group of journalists whose work is intended to be free of content changes by the White House.
The pool journalists, however, must submit their reports to the White House press office, which distributes them via e-mail to hundreds of news organizations and others. The White House maintains the list of recipients.

Reporters have complained that the Obama White House exploits its role as distributor to demand changes in pool reports and that the press office has delayed or refused to distribute some reports until they are amended to officials’ satisfaction.

But now, some journalists are sharing their White House reporting using Google Groups— the digital service that allows registered users to receive and send information within a closed circle. In an early test of the supplemental system, journalists shared pool information about President Obama’s trip to Chicago this month. The system has been used for “advisories,” such as where the pool is assembling, when another pool report will be issued or whether a correction is in the works.

Nearly 90 journalists, all working for print media, are part of the Google Groups distribution — a small fraction of the estimated 8,000 people, agencies and organizations that receive the “official” pool reports sent out by the White House.

The goal is to create an independent pool-reporting system for print and online recipients, the WHCA members say. TV and radio reporters already have such a system, but print and online reporters — a far larger group than broadcasters — are dependent on the White House to manage and maintain the distribution system.

“Our goal here is to build a supplementary system for the print poolers so they can send out information directly to other reporters whenever they feel they need to, much as the TV and radio poolers do now,” said WHCA President Christi Parsons, who is the White House correspondent for Tribune newspapers.

Parsons said that an alternative system would serve as a backup to the main system in case of breakdowns, such as one that occurred on Inauguration Day in 2009. Such a system also would be faster than going through the White House, she said, given occasional delays in getting reports issued.

But for various reasons, the backup means of distribution is unlikely to supplant the White House system anytime soon.
The key obstacles appear to be not technological but administrative and financial. The WHCA is wary of the cost of taking over all the managerial tasks of the pool system from the White House, which does the job with its own staff at taxpayer expense.

In addition to distributing the pool reports and maintaining an ever-changing list of recipients, the White House press office has several staffers who schedule reporters for pool duty, coordinate security clearances so that they can be in proximity to the president and find substitutes when there are no-shows.

The correspondents’ association would have to hire its own employees to do those jobs if it wanted to take on the assignment itself. The organization is considering increasing its membership fees to hire staffers for such jobs.

The White House declined requests for comment.

Pool reporters rarely break news themselves, but they do provide color and detail about what the president is doing or saying, or with whom he is meeting. Journalists rely on such reports to describe scenes they cannot witness for themselves.

The WHCA said that the White House has more recently been abiding by the organization’s request that press officers send out pool reports without questioning them, even when the reports contain spelling or factual errors. The group made the request in June, when Josh Earnest took over as White House press secretary.
“It’s our responsibility as reporters to make sure the reports are accurate and thorough, and no one should ever assume that the White House is approving or disapproving of the content in any pool report,” Parsons said.
She said that more people would be added to the Google list after an evaluation period. The intent, she said, is that “every journalist who wants information from the print pooler should be able to get it — the same information as everyone else gets, delivered at the same time.”
