An attempt by four-time independent failed presidential candidate Ralph Nader to talk some trash about Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter boss Elon Musk backfired mightily.
Made on Friday, the attempt consisted of Nader taking to Twitter to accuse Musk of being “a gigantic corporate welfare king masquerading as a capitalist businessman”

It’s not clear what prompted the out-of-the-blue attack.
What’s known is that by Sunday, the tweet had attracted nearly 20 million views but only 37,000 likes. Conversely, Musk’s rebuttal had attracted nearly 300,000 likes.
“Ralph Nader, you are lying – shame on you! I personally provided almost all Tesla funding, based on my proceeds from PayPal, from Series A in 2004 until Series C in 2007. In late 2008, I gave Tesla the last money I had. It was that or the company would have died. We closed that funding round at 6pm on Christmas Eve,” the Twitter boss’ brutal rebuttal reads.
“If we had not closed that round, Tesla would have gone bankrupt 2 days after Christmas. I gave my last money thinking Tesla would probably still die, not thinking that it would be lucrative. The first meaningful government funding Tesla received was in Q2 2010 from a loan under the vehicle efficiency lending program. Tesla paid back that loan early with interest. Taxpayers actually made a profit,” it continues.

Musk has long faced accusations that he’s a so-called “welfare king.”
The truth is that his companies have over the years collected government subsidies, according to Lisa Conyers and Phil Harvey, authors of “Welfare for the Rich: How Your Tax Dollars End Up in Millionaires’ Pockets—And What You Can do About It.”
“By 2015, they write, companies led by Musk had gotten billions of dollars in subsidies, tax breaks, and other handouts. New York state even shelled out $750 million to build a solar panel factory for Musk’s Solar City operation and said the company would pay no property taxes for a decade, saving another $260 million,” Reason magazine notes.
But the truth also is that he’s not alone in collecting some subsidies. In fact, were Nader to apply the same judgment against every other subsidy collector, virtually every major corporation CEO would be a “welfare king” or “welfare queen.”
“There are literally thousands of other immensely rich people who are constantly bilking governments at all levels for special perks, carve-outs, and handouts paid for by middle-class and poor people,” according to Reason.
“In exhaustively documented and perpetually enraging prose, Conyers and Harvey show how millionaire ‘farmers,’ billionaire team owners, and filthy rich oil-and-gas-and-wind-power barons lobby Congress, rewrite zoning laws, and plunder the public fisc like it’s a bodily function. You also have to factor in the fact that Musk has, as he explained in his rebuttal, repaid some of the so-called “welfare.” Like the “welfare” he received in 2010.

In addition to payments made in 2012 and Q1 2013, today’s wire of almost half a billion dollars ($451.8M) repays the full loan facility with interest. Dovetailing back to Nader’s unprovoked attack, it also riled up Musk’s millions of supporters, who rushed in to fact-check the failed presidential candidate with Twitter’s “Community Notes” feature:

I suggest doing some fact finding because this is really far from the truth.
Given his history, I would have expected more substance from Nader to back up such accusations. As it is, not worthy of anyone’s attention until details are provided. I admire his work, generally, but not this.

How to save ourselves from Chinese, Democrat Party Communism (DPC)
The Biden regime’s support for socialists throughout Latin America is aiding China’s efforts to dominate the region. We must recognize and counter the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) imperialist ambitions or lose our liberty. We cannot do so with an anti-liberty regime in the White House that hates America and all it stands for.
We must survive the next two years with Biden in the executive and recover our government from those whose goal is to transform the federal government into a dictatorship. One step in this direction, which has begun, is congressional Republicans investigating the Biden regime and informing the public of the truth.
Even though meaningful legislation will almost surely not become law, the Republican-majority House must propose bills to counter the Biden regime’s harmful policies. This shows voters that Republicans, hopefully with some Democrat support, would stop the march to tyranny of those behind the regime and restore US strength and values.
Last year, about 82 percent of Americans had an unfavorable view of China. About 90 percent of US adults say China is a “somewhat serious problem” for the United States, and 62 percent say it is a “very serious problem.” This is likely why the House voted 365-65, including 146 Democrats, to create the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. Similarly, 109 Democrats voted for Representative Maria Salazar’s (R-FL) resolution“Denouncing the horrors of socialism.”
Also in line with constituent concerns, Congress has two bills to lessen dependence on China and increase trade with Latin America. Salazar’s and Senator Bill Cassidy’s (R-LA) draft Americas Act and Representative Mark Green’s (R-TN) Western Hemisphere Nearshoring Act would accomplish those goals if passed.
In 2020, the FBI reported that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) “believes it is in a generational fight to surpass our country in economic and technological leadership … It’s waging this fight not through legitimate innovation, not through fair and lawful competition … China is engaged in a whole-of-state effort to become the world’s only superpower by any means necessary.”

China has increased its trade with Latin America from $12 billion in 2000 to more than $430 billion in 2021. It is now the top trading partner for nine Latin American countries and second overall to the United States. Regionally, China has extended more than $140 billion in sovereign loans since 2005 and has provided billions in loans to private companies through its China Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank of China.
The COVID-19 pandemic underlined the need to lessen economic dependence on China. The CCP’s increasing penetration of Latin America heightens that need. As former international relations lecturer at Francisco Marroquín University Nicholas Virzi says, “China aspires to a military presence close to US shores.”

Virzi notes that China controls 63 percent of the world’s rare-earth mining, 85 percent of its processing, and 92 percent of rare-earth magnet production—critical weaponry and high-tech components. Besides the Biden regime’s energy policy empowering Russia and Iran, the phony climate alarmism it promotes outsources US defense to China.
Despite public support and importance to national security, the Cassidy-Salazar and Green bills will find a staunch but surreptitious opponent in the State Department (DOS). Although DOS runs its own foreign policy, it is in lockstep with and works together with the Biden regime to spread socialism throughout Latin America.
The Diplomat news website notes that for Xi Jinping’s efforts against Taiwan, “The Western Hemisphere is ground zero.” It identifies only eight countries in the Americas as “diplomatic allies” of Taiwan. Both bills require that countries receiving benefits work with Taiwan.
Virzi notes that Guatemala is the ideal spot for the bills’ proposals. In addition to untapped productive potential, Guatemala has no relation with the CCP and is a stalwart ally of Taiwan and the United States. The current Guatemalan government is combating illegal migration— without help from the Biden regime—and narcotrafficking in conjunction with US security agencies and the Justice Department.
DOS has for a decade worked to impose criminal socialists—successors to the Fidel Castro-supported guerrilla—on successive Guatemalan governments and undermine legal authorities. DOS ignored or evaded various congressional inquiries last year about this because lying is a felony, and the truth would expose DOS criminality.
Actions to lessen US dependence on China and strengthen national security, reflected in the Cassidy-Salazar and Green bills, would expose anti-American DOS activities. Representatives James Comer (R-KY) and Jim Jordan (R-OH), chairs of the Oversight and Judiciary committees, respectively, have announced they will investigate recently reported DOS bankrolling of “a ‘disinformation’ tracking group blacklisting conservative news outlets.”
US liberty and security compel congressional Republicans to investigate and inform the public about China’s anti-US activities and the Biden regime’s weaponization of the government at home and abroad. Ideally, these efforts will include Democrats who supported the creation of the select committee on China and Salazar’s antisocialism resolution.

It has almost been a month since East Palestine suffered its worst tragedy in their history, yet Joe Biden and his administration have neglected to show up with immediate relief. When President Trump announced his trip to meet the people of the community and bring tractor-trailer loads full of essential supplies to help people still affected by the train derailment, the Biden administration curiously sprang into action and approved FEMA resources that were initially rejected.
While President Trump forced the inept federal government and Biden to act, here is how Biden and Buttigieg spent the last 20 days ignoring the concerns of the citizens of East Palestine.
East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway said on Monday that Biden’s trip to Ukraine was the “biggest slap in the face,” and showed he “doesn’t care about us” and that he was “furious” Biden was supporting Ukraine and not his town.
“It’s ridiculous that Joe Biden hasn’t been to East Palestine. It’s all politics all the time for Biden and he doesn’t give a damn!” U.S. Senator Ted Cruz wrote on Twitter
“It is unacceptable that it took nearly two weeks for a senior administration official to show up,” U.S. Senator Joe Manchin said in a statement Thursday. “I urge President Biden, Administrator Regan, and Transportation Secretary Buttigieg to provide a complete picture of the damage and a comprehensive plan to ensure the community is supported in the weeks, months and years to come, and this sort of accident never happens again.”
"We need Congressional inquiry and direct action from Secretary Buttigieg to address this tragedy," Minnesota Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar wrote on Twitter.
"Amidst an impending possible rail strike last year, Secretary Buttigieg left the country to vacation in Portuguese wine country," Senator Marco Rubio wrote . "Near misses in commercial aviation, as well as recent system failures, including the one that shutdown air travel in Florida in January, indicate that serious and persistent problems across the DOT are not being sufficiently remedied. I do not have confidence that Secretary Buttigieg is capable of keeping the American people safe."
"The people in East Palestine had their water, air, and soil poisoned," Ohio Senator Mike Rulli wrote on Twitter. "Pete Buttigieg's only response was to spin and say it wasn't a big deal. He's not doing his job. He needs to resign. Now."
His comments drew backlash from U.S. Senator J.D. Vance . Appearing in East Palestine, Senator Vance said, “your Department of Transportation has things it can do. Stop blaming Donald Trump, a guy who hasn’t been president for three years, and use the powers of the federal government to do the things necessary to help people in this community.”
