Population density and COVID-19 infection rate a new study suggests that denser places, assumed by many to be more conducive to the spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, are not linked to higher infection rates. The study, led by a researcher at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, also found that dense areas were associated with lower COVID-19 death rates. Pre-existing conditions apparently far outweigh population density and location variables as a predictor of becoming a statistic from COVID-19.
