The president made multiple promises during his campaign that negotiations would be "on C-SPAN."
President Obama is planning a televised bipartisan health-care meeting for Feb. 25.
C-SPAN has asked to televise the summit.
As recently as last month, Democrat leadership went behind closed doors at the Whitehouse to reconcile two versions of health care reform, despite media requests to cover the negotiations.
Polls show the American people strongly disapprove of the House and Senate health-care proposals. A national survey by Rasmussen Reports showed that 58 percent of voters oppose the plans.
