Pollster Believes Biden Attacks Render GOP Voters ‘Virtually Impossible To Poll’

Trafalgar Group chief pollster Robert C. Cahaly said Saturday that voters who support former President Donald Trump are likely to be even harder to quantify and poll than in recent years. He points to the phenomenon of the “shy Trump voter.”
Now that the 2022 midterm elections are closing in fast, Cahaly believes that the harsh rhetoric against “MAGA Republicans” and Trump supporters in general will largely silence a large swath of Americans from polling.
It doesn’t take long to find the evidence for why those who believe in the former president might be inclined to hide that fact.
Seeking a unifying message for Democrats, Biden found one in trashing the GOP in every possible situation. It seemed to take root with his declaration weeks ago that the party embraces “semi-fascism.”
When fellow Democrats and the mainstream media appeared to fall in line with the messaging, Biden made it his daily theme. Look no further than statements such as “extreme MAGA Republicans don’t just threaten our personal and economic rights, they embrace political violence.”
Biden announced that the opposition party refuses to acknowledge the will of the people and are a threat to “our very democracy.”
On and on it goes. Repeated references to “extreme ideology” are clearly the platform that Democrats are running on as the November midterm elections approach.
Biden told a union crowd in Pittsburgh recently that the nation can move forward and “build a better America” or it can keep on barreling down this “sliding path of oblivion to where we don’t want to go.”
Cahaly is right. How many Americans would rather avoid the noise than stand in the face of the president’s harsh criticisms? It is much more likely that they will take the path of least resistance right up to the polling booth, which is private and personal and the best outlet for their true beliefs.
