New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman Wants The US To Accept Palestinian Refugees
STUPIDITY KNOWS NO LIMITS
Democratic New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman wants the U.S. to accept Palestinian refugees displaced by the widely expected Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip, according to the New York Post.
Bowman, who is under investigation for allegedly pulling the fire alarm in a House office building earlier this month ahead of a vote on the continuing resolution to avert a government shutdown, suggested that the U.S. is obligated to accept refugees escaping the violence, according to the Post.
An estimated 1 million people have already been displaced in the Gaza Strip, before the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has even initiated their expected ground invasion of the Hamas stronghold, according to The Associated Press.

“Fifty percent of the population in Gaza are children,” Bowman said, according to the Post. “The international community and the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas.”
Approximately 57% of people who live in the Gaza Strip maintain an opinion of Hamas that is at least somewhat positive, according to the Washington Institute.
Bowman is a bespoke member of the “Squad,” a group of left-wing House Democrats that generally offered widely criticized statements after last Saturday’s vicious Hamas attacks which precipitated the IDF’s response. In the aftermath of the attacks, Bowman called for an end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Several GOP senators have made clear that they will not support any attempts to resettle Palestinians in the U.S., according to the Post.
“The U.S. is the most generous nation in the world, but we are in no position to accept additional refugees, especially from a region with as high a risk of terrorism, given our nation’s inability to secure our own border or vet those who are already here,” Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said in response to calls to resettle Palestinians in the U.S, according to the Post.
Egypt, which also participates in the blockade of the Gaza Strip, has so far refused to accept any Palestinian refugees fleeing the war, according to The Washington Post. No other Arab country is willing to accept Palestinian refugees either, according to Reuters.

“Iran should take responsibility for any Palestinian refugees caused by its proxy… war with Israel. Iran is responsible for the death and destruction— it should be responsible for refugees as well,” Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas said, according to the Post.
Bowman’s office did not respond immediately to a request for comment, … because Bowman is tongue tied.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis told a group of Republican voters in Iowa on Saturday that the United States should not allow Palestinian refugees fleeing Gaza amid the Israel-Hamas war.
The GOP presidential contender made his remarks as Israel prepares to move forward with a ground offensive into northern Gaza. The conflict sparked last week when Hamas invaded the country by attacking towns and holding civilians hostage.
DeSantis cited antismitism as reasoning for not letting refugees enter the US, claiming they do not believe Israel has the right to exist.
“I don’t know what [President] Biden’s gonna do, but we cannot accept people from Gaza into this country as refugees,” DeSantis at a campaign stop in Iowa, according to a video posted online.
“I am not going to do that,” he continued. “If you look at how they behave, not all of them are Hamas, but they are all antisemitic. None of them believe in Israel’s right to exist.”
DeSantis noted that the nearby countries such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt should be housing the refugees and not “import them into the United States of America.”
“The Arab States should be taking them if you have refugees,” he concluded. “You don’t fly people and import them into the United States of America.”
The Florida governor authorized an order earlier this week giving the greenlight to rescue Floridians in Israel stuck in the conflict.
Congressman Who Served In Israeli Military Wears Uniform to Capitol: ‘Tlaib’s Got Her Flag, I’ve Got My Uniform’
Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) showed up to the Capitol Building wearing an Israel Defense Forces uniform on Friday in a statement of solidarity with the world’s only Jewish-majority state.
Mast is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served for 12 years and earned a Purple Heart after he found an improvised explosive device that took both of his legs in Afghanistan. After continuing to serve with his injuries for two years, he retired only to volunteer to serve in the IDF as an expert on the disposal of explosives.
The congressman told Jewish News Syndicate earlier this year that his time in Israel taught him that its citizens don’t seek war or violence, and are acting only in their self-defense. He has called himself “proud to be the only member of Congress who has worn both the uniform of the United States Army and the uniform of the Israel Defense Forces.”
On Friday, Mast was asked by a reporter in the Capitol if he could explain his wardrobe choice, to which he replied, “Tlaib’s got her flag, I’ve got my uniform.”
Mast was referencing Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s (D-MI) hanging of a Palestinian flag in her office. Tlaib has often been criticized for fervent anti-Israel rhetoric, and what critics, even within her own party, claim are anti-Semitic remarks since first being elected to Congress in 2018.
In her statement on the barbaric, Hamas-led attack on Israel last weekend, Tlaib appeared to assign blame for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Israeli citizens on Israel.
“I grieve the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day. I am determined as ever to fight for a just future where everyone can live in peace, without fear and with true freedom, equal rights, and human dignity,” wrote Tlaib. “The path to that future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance.”

Total illegal migrants crossing border under Biden greater than population of 23 U.S. states
President Joe Biden and his administration insist the southwest U.S. border is closed and federal immigration laws are being enforced.
But since Biden took office, more than 3 million people have been encountered/apprehended entering the U.S. illegally from over 150 countries, according to Customs and Border Patrol data. And that number doesn’t include so-called “gotaways,” the term used for those crossing the border illegally who evade capture.
CBP doesn’t report the number of gotaways publicly, but Border Patrol agents who spoke to The Center Square said they total more than a million since Biden took office, setting the total number of border crossings at more than 4 million.
